The halt of US aid to the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) will have a devastating impact on women's health globally, particularly affecting programs providing medical care to survivors of physical and sexual violence. The US, previously a major donor representing 40% of UNFPA's humanitarian budget and 11% of its global budget, has terminated the majority of its funding agreements, resulting in a loss of $289 million across 41 grants.
